Aiko Shimada

Aiko was born in Japan and came to the U.S. at age 18 to study English. As a child she loved listening to the records of Japanese pop singers and creating harmony parts so she could sing along.
In Seattle she performed and toured as a singer/songwriter/guitarist. Aiko loved working in the studio crafting and arranging her music which included harmonically layering her voice over and under her original melodies.
After having her son in her early 40s Aiko's focus shifted to learning about Waldorf education for him. Waldorf education gave her another avenue to the healing effects of music.
When she is not singing Aiko teaches Macrobiotic Japanese cooking, gives Reiki to people and animals and practices Chinese Taoist Medical Qigong.
