           rescendo is a weekly Music Therapy group designed for those with Neurological Impairment (i.e. Parkinson's Disease, stroke,          traumatic brain injury) and their families.  It is an opportunity to connect with others and engage in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) research-based strategies. These proven strategies significantly contribute to improving and/or sustaining motor function, communication, and cognition.

 

Led by Board Certified Music Therapists with advanced training in Neurologic Music Therapy, this group provides opportunities to participate in the therapeutic techniques that activate brain functions.  These activities may include drumming, playing instruments, singing, movement, group songwriting, and connecting with others through music. 

PARTICIPATION IN THE CRESCENDO MUSIC THERAPY GROUP PROVIDES:

  • Vocal and communication support through: breathing, posture, and vocal exercises.

  • Increased physical functioning through use of rhythm and movement to music.

  • An opportunity for new social and emotional connections with others.

  • A fun experience with a theraputic purpose - to feel great!

WHEN:  Spring 12-Week Term, Wednesday 10:30-12:00am

COST: 1st Session Complimentary.  $149 for 12 Week Term
